We offer rooted cuttings in three basic size trays. 102 cell, 50 cell and strip trays.

102’s have become the industry standard and are large enough to deliver a good-sized cutting with a sufficient root ball ready to take off, yet still small enough to be economical. All our 102’s are 102 cells counted as 100.

50 cell size compared to 102 cell size

50 cell trays are a specialty tray. These larger cells offer larger cuttings that are older and more developed. These are meant to be an energy saving, more affordable alternative to a Prefinished Pot and will save growers 2 to 3 weeks versus planting a smaller cell earlier. Often they are easier to grow because they dry out quicker and are transplanted later into a warmer greenhouse during a period of higher light than if planted from a smaller cell earlier in the season. All of 50 cell trays are counted as 48.

Strip trays are used for Geraniums because they are too coarse, too leafy to root in either our 102 or 50 cell tray. They are grown with the strips spaced apart on the bench and then condensed for shipping. Geraniums are counted as 100.

Order Deadline: Most cuttings require a 10 week lead time. Order at least 10 weeks before delivery. We stop taking new orders January 15. Our EOD Deadline for cuttings is November 15.

TAGS: We do not automatically supply tags with our cuttings except when required to by the breeder (All Suntory Products). When tags are required or requested their cost will be added to the cost of the cutting. All tags are $.04 each. They come in bundles of 100. There is a column on the order form for tags. Just check it and the appropriate number of tags will be sent with your order. Breeder required tags are pre-checked on the form. Tags ordered after the delivery of product will be subject to availability and a $25 handling fee.

ROYALTIES AND MARKETING FEES: Breeders charge us royalties and marketing fees. We choose to include them in the price, and not bill for them separately.

LINKS TO BREEDERS WEBSITES: We offer hundreds and hundreds of varieties and it isn’ t practical to show every one. Many of our breeders and stock suppliers have interesting and useful websites often offering more detailed pictures, product descriptions and detailed cultural information than is available within our website.
